Alejandra Ayala named “Runner of the Year" by Press Telegram

The Long Beach Press Telegram has named sophomore Alejandra Ayala as the area’s 2018 Dream Team “Runner of the Year" for Girls Cross Country. As mentioned in the attached Press Telegram article, Alejandra was the fastest female runner for all local high schools at both CIF Prelims and CIF Finals. Her time of 17:58 at Prelims is now our new school record for 3 miles, and qualified her to CIF Finals, which was last accomplished for our Girls Cross Country program 27 years ago by Marisa Avendano, our previous school record holder.
