Congratulations FCCLA Pirates!
Recently, the PHS Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Team attended the 2017-18 Leadership Conference in Fresno. Guided by advisors Ms. Tanimoto and Ms. Bell, the students competed against teams from across the state in Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events. The following day, they attended educational workshops about leadership and team building. Later that evening, they attended a formal banquet and dance to celebrate the conference.
At the awards ceremony the next morning, several Pirates came away with trophies! Maximillian Chau and Gisselle Rios were awarded First Place for Chapter Web Page Design. Jaylene Prom also placed First—in the Teach and Train category. Luisa Robles earned a Second Place award as an Environmental Ambassador. Tania Munguia placed Third in Illustrated Talk, as did Gabriela Maldonez in Culinary Display.
This summer, these talented, hardworking students will travel to Atlanta to compete against teams from across the country at the National Conference. Way to go, Pirates!
