Paramount High School Assistant Principal Rafa Villaseñor Inducted into CIF Southern Section Hall of Fame

Rafa Villaseñor is one of only 12 coaches inducted as part of the 2023-24 Hall of Fame class, solidifying his legacy as an influential leader in high school athletics. During his acceptance speech, Villaseñor expressed heartfelt gratitude to his family, his former coaches at Paramount High School, his players, and the community that shaped him.

“Jim Monico taught me not just about the sport, but about tough love, support, and compassion,” Villaseñor said. “He influenced my life far beyond the field, instilling in me loyalty, dedication, and strength—values I passed on to my athletes every day.” He also extended his thanks to former coaching partner Juan Navarro, his athletes—whom he lovingly referred to as "the sons I never had"—and the Paramount community for allowing him to give back.

Villaseñor’s coaching career began in 2009 and spans 11 years,  where he led his teams to exceptional success with 212 wins, 49 losses and 31 ties. This also includes four consecutive CIF division championships and three CIF State Division I Southern Regional Championships.

Beyond the field, Villaseñor has been an active contributor to the CIF Southern Section as a member of the Advisory and Management Committees, helping to shape the future of high school soccer in the region. In addition to his legendary coaching career, Villaseñor currently serves as Assistant Principal at Paramount High School, where his leadership continues to inspire students both on and off the field. His ability to connect with and uplift students through education and athletics has been instrumental in shaping the school’s community.

Paramount Unified School District is honored to celebrate Rafa Villaseñor, not only for his achievements on the field but for his dedication to building character, resilience, and heart in every athlete he has coached. His induction into the CIF Southern Section Hall of Fame is a well-deserved recognition of his impact both as a coach and a mentor.
