Principal's Message

Dear Pirate Family,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the online home of the Paramount High School Senior Campus Pirates. Paramount High School has been serving students and their families in the Paramount community since 1953.  As the principal of PHS, it is a privilege to serve Paramount High School as well as the community of Paramount. Paramount High School has a rich history of success and excellence. We are committed to honoring the past while ensuring we build on the legacy and soar to new levels of excellence.
The mission of our district is to ensure learning and success for each student is providing a quality education. We at PHS see that we must ensure the academic, social, personal of individuals with a student-centered environment that encourages students to become critical thinkers with a global perspective who are prepared for college and career. This mission vision statement was developed with input from all stakeholder groups including faculty, students, and parents and I believe that it is a wonderful example of our core values.
A tremendously talented and dedicated staff of teachers, counselors, and other personnel work tirelessly to support this mission.  We have built a fully comprehensive academic curriculum that includes English, Math, Social Studies, Science, World Languages, Physical Education, Visual and Performing Arts, and a wide variety of Career Technical Education pathways.  We offered 20 different Advanced Placement (AP) courses in 2019-2020 and over 1900 AP exams were taken in May. Over 40% High School students take Honors or Advanced Placement coursework at any given time and the percentage of our graduates who meet the A-G requirements is significantly above the California state average.  We were proud that our students are achieving excellence. The class of 2020 achieved many Our respective Valedictorian who will be attending Stanford and our Salutatorian attending UCLA this fall. We are incredibly proud of 2020  as they have again raised the bar in students who completed A-G college completion, CTE pathways our senior class will be attending in record numbers CSU/UC and private around the state as well as prestigious colleges all around the United States. We are committed to providing access and resources as well as multiple experiences to ensure our students have the tools to be successful after high school.
